Onewa Voices sing up a storm at Big Sing
The school choir, Onewa Voices, sang up a storm at the Town Hall at the recent national choral event The Big Sing on Tuesday 14 June.
They sang in the Day Heats of the festival and the Evening Gala Concert.
Their program consisted of 'Pusi Nofo', a traditional Samoan Folk song, and an arrangement of 'And So it Goes' by Billy Joel, featuring solos by Zac Ridley and Semisi Fonua.
The mixed choir of 50 members sang beautifully and presented a polished performance with heart and musical nuance.
Their conductor, Esther Leefe was presented with the conductor's Professional Development Award at the end of the evening concert.
The group were buzzing for days afterwards and are looking forward to their next performance at The Kaipatiki Sounds festival on the 20th August.
