Junior Courses
The junior Social Studies programmes (Years 9 and 10) are designed to give students a grounding in Social Sciences with courses that reference the senior disciplines of Economics, Geography and History.
Contemporary as well as historic issues are studied to develop a deeper understanding of people both within and beyond our own communities. A significant component of all courses are the skills that will enable 21st century learners to operate as active participants in both the workforce and wider society. These include researching from multiple sources, critiquing the provenance of information gathered, explicitly identifying the most relevant parts of it, and communicating it in a structured format (usually an essay).
Junior Business Studies is also offered at Year 10 for those students interested in a pathway into senior commerce subjects.
