TOP 2024 SPORTSPEOPLE HONOURED
Congratulations to our most oustanding sportspeople of 2024: Lisa Gear – Northcote College 2024 Victrix Ludorum Sportswoman of the Year, and Cameron Brown & Alex Norman – jointly named as Northcote College 2024 Victor Ludorum Sportsman of the Year.
Our annual sports awards also recognised many other students for their sporting achievements in team and individual pursuits.

LISA GEAR | VICTRIX LUDORUM – SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR
Lisa has had an outstanding year in table tennis, athletics and basketball. She has been one of the most talented sporting students we have had in many years.
She is an Auckland and New Zealand woman’s table tennis representative, winner of the Maori and Canterbury table tennis champs, and represented NZ in Austria and New Caledonia.
In athletics she was 2nd in shot put in the North Harbour Secondary School Champs and 4th in the discus and 800m. In basketball she is a North Harbour rep and co-captain of Northcote College Premier team that qualified for the Auckland final.
Lisa has been a leader, outstanding individual and team player and inspiration for those around her.
CAMERON BROWN & ALEX NORMAN | VICTOR LUDORUM – SPORTSMEN OF THE YEAR
Cameron & Alex have enjoyed another remarkable year in sailing.
They finished 1st in their age group in the Auckland 420 championship and a second at the Nationals. In the Australian National championship in NSW, they finished 1st. They are both in the New Zealand Youth Squad with Yachting New Zealand.
They won the yachting New Zealand Youth trials against the best in NZ and were then selected to race in the New Zealand Youth team at the European and World Championships in Slovenia and Italy.
They finished a very impressive 15th place at the World Championship in Spain. (10 places higher than last year), with a few top 5 places in a field of 150+ competitors.
Alex was unable to attend the Sports Prizegiving, and Cameron accepted the joint award on behalf of them both.
