Emphatic win starts 1st XI’s cricket season in style
The Northcote College 1st XI Cricket Boys have had a stonking start to the 1B season – with an emphatic 195-run win over Pakuranga College 1st XI.
Pakuranga won the toss and chose to bowl. Northcote made 261-7 in their 40 overs. Ricco Howarth (12PRB) made his first century for the 1st XI with a classy 113. He received excellent support from Krish Nair (13CE) who continued his excellent form with 53. Olly Heslop (13ZLM) and Oscar Tyrrell (13SVR) also chipped in with 18 and 17 respectively.
In reply, Pakuranga were rolled for 66 in 22.3 overs. Micah Cooke (13CE) had his best ever bowling figures of 5 for 23 off 5 overs. Oscar Tyrrell (13SVR) with 2 for 10 off 6 overs, Aidan Smedley (13BRD) with 1 for 10 off 5 overs, Jared Stubbs (12PAR) with 1 for 13 off 4 overs and Olly Heslop (13ZLM) with 1 for 6 off 2.1 overs all bowled well.
