NORTHCOTE COLLEGE STUDENT CONFIRMED AS HAVING COVID 19
A Northcote College student has been confirmed as having Covid-19. The student was infectious when at school on the Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 August.
The safety and wellbeing of all our students and staff – and the wider community – are our priority.
“Our thoughts are with the student and their family,” says Northcote College principal Vicki Barrie.
This evening the school has contacted all students and staff, as they are now considered to be ‘close contacts’ and must isolate at home for 14 days.
Northcote College’s online learning programme will continue next week. The priority tomorrow is for all students and staff to get tested.
“We have urged students and staff to get tested as soon as possible and to follow the instructions of the Auckland Regional Public Health Service,” says Ms Barrie.
“I am grateful for the swift action of the Ministry of Education and Auckland Regional Public Health Service.
“We understand how worried people in our school community will be. The best thing we can all do is get tested quickly.”
