2022 NORTHCOTE COLLEGE SPORTS AWARDS LIST
Top honours went to Shivam Nair and Sionann Murphy, who were named our top sportspeople and awarded the titles of Victor Ludorum and Victrix Ludorum respectively.
SHIVAM NAIR | VICTOR LUDORUM
Congratulations to Shivam Nair, who has been named the 2022 Northcote College Victor Ludorum – honouring him as the school’s top sportsman of the year. Shivam has had another outstanding year in football and cricket and his leadership qualities also stood out again throughout the season. Here’s a summary of his year’s sporting successes.

- Northcote College 1st XI – winners of the A2 Grade trophy

SIONANN MURPHY | VICTRIX LUDORUM
Congratulations to Sionann Murphy, who has been named the 2022 Northcote College Victrix Ludorum – honouring her as the school’s top sportswoman of the year. Sionann’s stellar year of sporting successes is summarised below.

SWIMMING
- New Zealand Secondary Schools Champs-Gold & PB SB6 50m breaststroke and 3 silver medals 100m breaststroke, 50m backstroke & 100m backstroke & a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle
- Champion Of Champions-1st in 50m breaststroke & 50m freestyle
- North Harbour Zone Day-1st in 50m breaststroke & 50m freestyle
- NZ Opens-Gold in the 50m breaststroke, silver in the 100m breaststroke and 3rd in the 50m freestyle racing against Sophie Pascoe
- NZ Short Course Champs-2 gold medals in the 50m breaststroke & 4 x 100m freestyle mixed relay both in NZ record times.
ATHLETICS
- Northcote College Athletics Day 1st Senior Discus
- Auckland championship-100m track mixed para team 1st place
- Selected in the NZ Secondary schools Para athletics team for all the classic athletic meetings
- Interprovincials U16 & 18 teams-1st on points for field events.
- Selected in the NZ team for the Oceania championship in MacKay Australia. In discus finished 4th overall in a new NZ U20 F37 record, 7th in shotput also in a NZ record and 12th in the 100m in a personal best time.
